Holly-Hunter

Holly Hunter was an American actress who became famous in the film Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. She won several awards including an Oscar for her role in the film Piano. Actresses have a long history of working on Broadway, Off-Broadway and other projects. The art of acting has been a constant passion. When she was in fifth grade, she played Helen Keller in an original play. The actress was deaf in one ear following a bout of mumps but did not let this disability dampen her determination to become an actress. When she was a teenager, she took classes in drama at college before moving into New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could achieve her goals. In a chance encounter she became trapped in an elevator along with the playwright Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart' which became Hunter's debut. When she moved into Los Angeles, Hunter tried to get movie roles. The role of a supporting actress was secured for Swing Shift. Since then she has appeared in a variety of TV movies and series throughout a span of over three decades. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
